Tulsa, state economies strengthen
9.12.2012The Tulsa region ranks among the 10 national leaders in the September edition of the On Numbers Economic Index (ONEI). On Numbers is an online service of American City Business Journals Inc.
The ONEI is a monthly rating of the economic vitality of 102 major metropolitan areas, generated by an 18-part formula.
In addition, Oklahoma's economic growth continued an upward trend last month, according to data from the Business Conditions Index.
The state's index was 53.6 for August, up from July's 52.7. The index uses data from a survey of businesses and includes information regarding new orders, sales, employment and other items. Oklahoma's index numbers were greater than those of its nine-state region average, which was 49.7.
