With the help of a federal grant from the U.S. Commerce Department’s Economic Development Administration, The Forge, a small business development center powered by Tulsa’s Young Professionals, opened the doors last week for its new permanent home in the Wright building.
In its new location, The Forge has office space for up to seven businesses at once, with co-working space for up to 25, where entrepreneurs can gather to network and exchange ideas, while having access to all of the guidance and resources they need to start, grow and succeed.
The move comes in unison with a new partnership with the Tulsa Economic Development Corporation, a direct lending program for small businesses. Additional resources on site include a full-time representative from the Oklahoma Small Business Development Center.
The Forge was founded by TYPros in 2010 thanks in part to the support of Tulsa’s Future, the Chamber’s public-private economic development plan, which committed $10,000 during The Forge’s startup phase.
