Tulsa Regional Chamber to inaugurate new chair, announce initiatives for 2014

The Tulsa Regional Chamber will formally inaugurate Wade Edmundson, CEO of Commerce Bank, Oklahoma, to succeed 2013 Chair Jake Henry Jr., president and CEO of Saint Francis Health System, as the 2014 chair of the Board of Directors at the Annual Meeting Jan. 15.

More than 1,200 area business leaders, local officials and citizens will be in attendance as Henry passes the torch to Edmundson. Also planned for the annual meeting is a video presentation featuring a review of 2013 accomplishments, an awards presentation and Edmundson’s inaugural address unveiling the Chamber’s primary initiatives for 2014.

Forum offers guidance on investing in start-up companies


If you have ever been curious about investing in early-stage companies for a return, this forum, presented in partnership with i2E, will inform you of the basics. Find out what qualifies an individual to be an accredited angel investor and the process of investing.

Featured speaker Mike Kindrat-Pratt manages i2E’s SeedStep Angels program. Angels typically invest a minimum of $25,000 in each deal, and tend to build portfolios of 10 to 15 investment. The SeedStep Angel group has invested more than $4 million in 20 companies since 2010.

A panel of angel investors will be at the event to offer feedback, answer questions and provide dialogue.
